I was diagnosed with generalized myasthenia gravis (MG) in August 2019. Prior to my diagnosis, I was the head of global sales and business development for a life science consulting firm. For nearly 10 years, my goal was to help innovative pharmaceutical companies advance their research and bring new therapeutics to market. Unfortunately, I was unable to perform at the highest level after my diagnosis and resigned. I was always hopeful to work with a company who would bring a new therapeutic to market for me. Even though I live with generalized MG, I consider myself lucky. I have wonderful children, David and Stephanie, and a sturdy support system with family and friends. Now, I work as a patient advocate utilizing my background in technology and science to help the rare disease patient community.
